| Ahsoka thinks about the implications of reaching Thrawn and Bridger, giving Wren pause since she remains determined to find her friend. Moments later, they are attacked by several of Skoll’s forces, but are able to hold them off. Fearing that Skoll will acquire the coordinates to Thrawn’s location, Ahsoka and Wren head to his base but are intercepted by Hati and Marrok. Ahsoka kills Marrok and continues on alone, while Wren stays behind to hold off Hati, who realizes that Wren cannot wield the Force. Ahsoka reaches Skoll and the two engage in a duel. Ahsoka is able to retrieve the map, but she tosses it aside after it burns her hand. Skoll overpowers and sends Ahsoka plummeting into the ocean as Wren watches in horror. Wren then holds the map at gunpoint, but Skoll verbally manipulates her into handing it over by promising her that she will see Bridger again. After Thrawn’s location is revealed, Skoll destroys the map and boards the Eye of Sion with Hati and Wren as their prisoner. A small fleet of New Republic fighters, led by Syndulla, arrives at Seatos and tries to stop the freighter from jumping into hyperspace, but fails to do so. Meanwhile, Ahsoka awakens in the “World Between Worlds”, where she is seemingly reunited with her former Master, Anakin Skywalker. | |||||

A Closer Look at Ahsoka Episode 4
Introduction
Hey there, fellow Star Wars enthusiasts! This is MJ, your friendly neighborhood author, artist, and analyzer, and today we’re diving deep into the latest episode of Ahsoka, titled “Fallen Jedi.” If you’re not familiar with my work, you can find everything Star Wars-related (AND BEYOND) at MJMunoz.com. Now, let’s jump into the galaxy far, far away.
The Not-So-Big Episode
Welcome to my fully operational Star Wars analysis. Today, we’re going to discuss the latest episode of Ahsoka, which, truth be told, didn’t quite live up to the hype of the “big episode.” Nevertheless, it still delivered some intriguing moments and character developments.
The Enigma of “Fallen Jedi”
First off, why is it called “Fallen Jedi”? This episode’s title left me with a handful of questions. Is it referencing Ahsoka’s journey away from the Jedi Order? Is it alluding to her connection to Anakin’s fall? Or perhaps there’s a different angle to explore? There were about five candidates for why this episode bears this title, but let’s leave that mystery for now.
Ahsoka and Sabine: Stuck in Sea Toss
Our heroes find themselves stranded on Sea Toss with a malfunctioning ship. They’re aware of the nearby enemy presence and intend to investigate, possibly to prevent the use of an ancient Nightsister map reading monument. There’s some downtime involving map-reading and chatter, which, honestly, seemed a tad slow for an episode dubbed “faster and more intense.”
The Maps, The Cube, and The Force
I couldn’t help but notice that the star map in this episode had more points of reference than necessary, making me wonder about the logic behind it. Although Star Wars isn’t hard science fiction, certain elements, like a star map’s references, should stay consistent with the established lore. Seven points for galactic travel, as established in other sci-fi, seems more reasonable than the episode’s nine or ten. Let’s not complicate things unnecessarily!
Intriguing Interactions
The episode did offer some exciting moments, including interactions with New Republic figures. The appearance of X-wing pilot Carson was a nice touch, though it leaves us wondering about future series like “Rangers of the New Republic.” These glimpses into the broader Star Wars universe always pique our interest.
Jason Syndulla’s Curiosity
The banter between Jason Syndulla and Hera about rule-breaking was quite enjoyable, providing a glimpse into their mother-son dynamic. Jason’s questioning of Hera’s actions and her response were a fun, relatable parent-child moment that Star Wars rarely offers.
Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Droids
Speaking of fun moments, the brawl between the HK droid and Huyang was a hilarious highlight. Who knew droids could engage in rock ’em sock ’em-style combat? Kudos to the creators for injecting some humor into the action.
The Enigmatic Lord Balin
Lord Balin, the antagonist of the episode, showcased a charismatic presence. His character blends qualities of a battle-hardened warrior and a tactician. It’s unclear whether he’s using Clone Wars-era armor or an adaptation of it, but his offer to Sabine was intriguing, despite its implications.
Sabine’s Temptation
Sabine’s choice to split up from Ahsoka and Lord Balin left us pondering her motivations. Her attachment to finding her brother Ezra seemed to outweigh her duty to protect the galaxy from the menace of Thrawn. This moral failing raises questions about her character’s development.
Concluding Thoughts
This episode might not have been the action-packed spectacle we anticipated, but it did offer intriguing character interactions and left us with a tantalizing cliffhanger. As we journey through the “eye of Sion,” the unknown awaits. Will Sabine’s attachment lead to unforeseen consequences? Only time will tell.
