On Coruscant, Syndulla faces a disciplinary hearing, with tribunal member Senator Xiono objecting to her reports of the secret Imperial Remnant conspiracy. C-3PO arrives and provides the tribunal with a fake authorization by Leia Organa, forcing the court to absolve Syndulla and convincing Mothma that the threat is real. Arriving at Peridea, the Purrgils run into a minefield left by Thrawn’s forces and retreat. Continuing alone, Ahsoka and Huyang are attacked by enemy fighters and hide in a debris field, compelling the Grand Admiral to adopt a more calculated approach. Ahsoka locates Wren through the Force and heads to the planet’s surface. Bridger, Wren, and the Noti are attacked by Hati, the bandits Wren had previously encountered, and Thrawn’s Night Troopers, while Skoll leaves to pursue his own agenda. Ahsoka’s intervention leads to Thrawn withdrawing his remaining Night Troopers and preparing his imminent departure. Hati is forced to retreat, and Ahsoka, Bridger, and Wren are joyously reunited.

A Closer Look at Ahsoka Episode 7

Greetings, fellow Star Wars enthusiasts! I’m MJ, an author, artist, and analyzer. Welcome to my corner of the galaxy, where we dive deep into all things Star Wars. Today, we’re embarking on an exciting journey through the latest episode of “Ahsoka,” episode 7 titled “Dreams and Madness.”

The Unusual Score and Episode Start

As the episode credits roll, it’s impossible to ignore the peculiar choice of music. The cool score, while attention-grabbing, is noticeably absent from the actual episode. It’s a unique decision that immediately piqued my interest.

Thrawn’s Enigmatic Strategy

Now, let’s delve into the heart of the episode. Thrawn, the brilliant tactician, engages in a conversation with a faux Nightsister, claiming victory because he’s made Ahsoka lose precious time. His argument revolves around the notion that time is the one commodity Ahsoka can’t afford to squander, and he’s determined to exploit that weakness. But here’s the kicker – is Thrawn’s argument truly compelling? The question of whether Timothy Zahn’s portrayal of Thrawn as a genius is convincing lingers in my mind.

Deciphering Thrawn’s Plan

A pivotal moment in this episode is when Thrawn confidently asserts that they will allow Ahsoka to chart her own course to stay one step ahead of her. It’s a statement that left me scratching my head. After all, Ahsoka isn’t hunting Thrawn; her mission is to find Sabine Wren. Thrawn’s plan seems to involve leaving Ahsoka alone to minimize the risk of her interference, but does this strategy qualify as genius? The jury’s still out.

Thrawn’s Star Wars Odyssey

Speaking of Thrawn’s presence in the Star Wars universe, I harbored reservations when he first appeared in “Rebels.” The thought of introducing such a complex character into a children’s show with potentially budget constraints raised eyebrows. But let’s not dwell too deeply on that theory. The transition from “Clone Wars” to “Rebels” was rife with challenges.

Now, in “Ahsoka,” I’m cautiously optimistic about how Thrawn will be handled. Moff Gideon in “The Mandalorian” exuded the intelligence and cunning reminiscent of Thrawn. However, Thrawn’s direct inclusion sparks questions. Are they laying the groundwork for him to play a pivotal role in the rise of the First Order? My curiosity is piqued, but I remain watchful.

Baylin’s Departure and the “Dreams and Madness” Enigma

I appreciate that Baylin decided to abandon Thrawn’s mission in pursuit of his own goals. This adds complexity to the narrative. The episode’s enigmatic title, “Dreams and Madness,” hints at something significant. However, I failed to detect dreams or madness in this particular episode, leaving me somewhat puzzled.

Could Baylin’s departure be linked to the episode’s title? Perhaps he’s pursuing ambitious plans or seeking some form of power. I can’t help but wonder if there’s a secret force-related superweapon or artifact at play here. After all, this wouldn’t be the first time such a concept surfaced in the Star Wars universe.

Anakin’s Heartfelt Flashback

The emotional zenith of the episode came with the Anakin flashback. We witnessed a holographic recording of Anakin training Ahsoka, a poignant reminder of their deep connection and Anakin’s role as her mentor. The knowledge that there are more of these recordings adds depth to their relationship and tugs at our heartstrings.

However, a minor continuity issue arises – Anakin dons his Revenge of the Sith outfit in the training video. Given that the Clone Wars spanned only three years, the timing of this recording raises questions.

In Closing

In conclusion, “Ahsoka: Episode 7” delivered an engaging installment. I’m eagerly anticipating the season’s conclusion and Thrawn’s ultimate role in the unfolding narrative. Many questions remain unanswered, and I can’t wait to explore them further with you.
