I’ve embarked on an exciting journey with my children’s series called “Grobug Tales.” This series features five unique picture books where children embark on adventures with magical, guardian-angel-like bugs named Grobugs. The first character I’ve developed is Rex, a young boy with a penchant for dinosaurs (hence the nickname). Inspired by Godzilla, Rex’s story involves a massive battle between two gigantic creatures in his bedroom, all thanks to some enchanting magic.
Another character I’ve sketched out is Harmony. She’s a graceful princess-ballerina, inspired by one of my favorite Japanese superhero, Kamen Rider.
I’ve also penned a sixth chapter book suitable for younger readers, around ages 7-10. It delves deeper into the enchanting world of grow bugs. My aim? To gradually hone my storytelling skills with smaller projects before tackling larger, more epic narratives.
Starting today, November 1st, 2023, I’ve committed to documenting my creative process. You can expect consistent content five days a week, alternating between writing and drawing. While I initially have a focus on the “Grow Bug Tales,” I’ll eventually transition to my superhero stories. However, I’m also pondering making a kids’ fantasy series with dragons and knights before embarking on the superhero venture.
