Digimon Knuckles: A Promising Start and My Own Royal Knight

Hey there, Digi-destined! MJ Muñoz here, ready to dive into the world of Digimon Knuckles by Ichigo Satoda. This new manga brings us an intriguing premise and some fascinating characters. Let’s break it down!

Digimon Knuckles: First Impressions

The story revolves around Haruka, a boy whose father has gone missing. Enter Gankoomon, a Royal Knight Digimon who’s coming to… act as his father? It’s an odd setup, but one that’s got me hooked!

What I Liked:

  1. The low-key story with a multi-layered hook
  2. Excellent artwork
  3. Haruka’s contradictory character – timid yet heroic
  4. The mystery surrounding Hajime’s disappearance and the Digimon watches

Interesting Elements:

  • Mojyamon’s introduction (less scary than expected, but intriguing)
  • Gankoomon’s design (that pencil mustache though!)
  • The concept of Digimon not being in full control of themselves

Questions and Theories

This first chapter leaves us with so many questions:

  • How many Digimon watches are there?
  • Who’s manufacturing them?
  • Is there a team working on human-Digital World migration?
  • What’s the deal with that Veedramon at the end?

I’ve got a theory about a “principle of exchange” between our world and the Digital World. Can’t wait to see if that pans out!

My Own Royal Knight: A Blast from the Past

Speaking of Royal Knights, I couldn’t help but reminisce about my own Digimon creation from back in the day. Let me tell you about my Ant Digimon line:

  1. Larvamon: A cute little ant in soldier armor (totally not inspired by Monster Rancher, I swear!)
  2. Knightmon: A Gundam-inspired action figure Digimon (perfect for blending in with toys!)
  3. Spider-Ant: A feral, vicious ant with stingers (Spider-Man meets Wolverine, anyone?)
  4. King of Cards: My own Royal Knight with four arms and swords representing card suits

I drew these way before the official Royal Knights concept, so I’m claiming mine as the first-ever Royal Knight. Take that, Digimon Frontier!

Wrapping Up

Digimon Knuckles is off to a promising start. I’m excited to see where the story goes and how Haruka and Gankoomon’s relationship develops. Plus, I’m always down for a good Digimon mystery!

What did you think of Digimon Knuckles? And how do my original Digimon designs stack up? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, shatter despair apart and show me your brave heart! This is MJ, signing out. Remember, in the world of Digimon, even the smallest ant can become a king!
