And here’s some of what else I have been up to.
WRITING
I am now working on a middle-grade book for Raconteur Press that opened up November 1, 2024! I had to go back and rework it in a major way while. I never made it out of the outline. I was making it for more of a YA audience and I realized I had to reel it in.
I have expanded all the chapters and am reading through them all to make sure they are cohesive from start to finish. I found a new item to add. I need to seed it in a few chapters to make it work. I also came up with an awesome emotional final fight scenario. It was sparked while trying to figure out the big climactic battle that happens about half way through the book. I need to make sure final fight 2 is better than final fight 1. The solution is NOT to make it more of the same, but kicked up to a higher degree. To my mind, bigger explosions and MORE POWER aren’t meaningful by themselves. The fights will be distinct from each other, that’s all I have on it for now. The plan is to work on big battle 1 and then go through the the rest of the outline making sure it all gels.
