Imagine a whole life spent in a quiet, warm, dark place. Your every need met without so much as a gesture from you. Imagine one day you lost all that and went to a bright, cold, loud world full of strangers. That’s what happens when a little baby comes out of their mommy, doesn’t that sound tough? That’s why babies need to be close to mommy. They know her smell and her voice and as soon as they are born they can drink her soothing milk. Being skin to skin with mommy while nursing helps to calm baby’s heart and breathing. It even helps them feel warm and cozy.
[My M-F Writing series is intended to make me a better writer and build towards publishing by the end of 2019. More than Milk is the current focus of these efforts to write and publish a bit each week day.]
