Did you know that some of the nurses laughed when I said I wanted to have a natural birth? One of them told me they would be back when I decided I wanted medicine for the pain. My labor was tough, but I didn’t give up. I had to fight the nurses about it, but I was able to have you the way I wanted.
Later when we were having trouble with breastfeeding, I felt more pressure to give up. But I didn’t. I kept working with you and a lactation consultant so I could give you the best I had to offer. It was hard. I had so many doubts because these experts and professionals acted as if I would fail. With love and support from your father, I showed all of them that I am enough.
