While struggling to reclaim the rights to her technology and make it cheaply and easily available for all people, Beatriz Luz encountered people in desperate situations. Helping them changed her outlook on life and set her on a different path. She vowed to use her newly forged skills to focus on helping people in whose issues weren’t easily solved through conventional methods. She did this to return the kindness shown to her.
As Zap, she utilizes her ability to manipulate energy and electricity to fight for people. She uses her keen mind to find solutions to their problems as well.
