SYNOPSIS
A worker tasked with removing a phone booth is attacked and vanished because of a fire demon. The Donbrothers try to fight the demon, but it has no physical body! Haruka encounters a girl named Minako who resides in the phone booth, who pressured her into being her friend. Minako is somewhat of a bad person, who follows Haruka home and reveals she is a ghost! She cannot become a Buddha in the afterlife because of a crush she has and is waiting on a phone call from the person she loves….
NEGATIVE
-This was fairly thin. There were solid gags, but no real great character moments.
POSITIVE
-Haruka continues to be an entertaining character. I know Sentai has had salty yellows in the past, but her delightful prickliness honestly reminds me of my kids and I like that.
DIRECTION
-I honestly can’t recall anything too special. The fights were competent, per usual. Playing a bit with Minako being a ghost was neat.
WRITING
-I can’t believe Tsubasa is still not known as Inu Brother and his consistent relationship with the rest of the Donbrothers somehow works even though it is easy to expect it totally would not.
GENERAL NOTES
-How much longer are we going to drag things out?
REFLECTIONS
-What is the definition of filler and is this episode filler?

Episode 19: 7/10I was mostly entertained. This was a fun detour. I liked all the little ghost tidbits, but the cast had to work hard to keep it compelling. I get the sense Muramase is just being dragged out and I find that and Inuzaka’s continued distance frustrating.

Avataro Sentai Donbrothers is a Japanese television series. It is the 46th in Toei’s Super Sentai series. Its Momotarō-themed Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger The show succeeded Kamen Rider Revice line-up Super Hero Time to Avataro Sentai Donbrothers in premiered March 6, 2022, on TV Asahi.

The series theme is based on the legend of Momotarō and Virtual Reality. Because of this, many of the show’s graphics are styled to resemble traditional Japanese watercolor brush paintings, and the series makes more extensive uses of CGI than past productions.
